Beatiful quote from MODESTYLE MONDAY

Another beautiful Monday :)

I came across an interesting quote from Nobel Laureate Tawakul Karman in response to the negative rhetoric often associated with Hijab and covering. Regardless of our own opinions, she demonstrated an excellent level of confidence in what she believed in.

When asked about her Hijab by journalists and how they felt that it was not proportionate with her level of intellect and education, she replied:


“Man in the early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilisation that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is regressive back to ancient times.”

My thought for the week is to remain confident and self assured in the choices you make, be it fashion or otherwise. Confidence goes beyond trends and is a timeless example of true style.
